Jill Spain - Surrey Village Vintage's Event Organiser
I have been designing and creating for many years; being practical runs in
my family. I am happy to tackle decorating, soft furnishings, dress-making, digging ponds and gardening. The very first thing I produced was a pillow case at school and because it looked a little boring I embroidered a fancy pattern on the edge. Adding a little extra turns something from being ordinary into being spectacular and unique.
My craft business is called Christmas Pie Crafts - an unusual name, but I
live in the village of Christmas Pie in Surrey, and it seemed an ideal
name for my business and it is a great conversation opener. People don't always believe it is a real place. I share my home with my husband and
our five cats: Jazz, Daisy, Poppy, Coco and Milly.
Away from crafting and event organising, I am a keen gardener. I love
bright, vibrant reds, oranges and yellows and these colours tend to be
ones I use in my 'makes', whether it is a birthday card, a scented candle
or a fabric wreath/wall hanging.
In addition to greetings cards, decorating jute bags and fabric wreaths, I
also design and create wedding stationery and a newish string to my bow
is organising craft events, which brings me nicely to this new venture.
Fee Fraser will be providing her vintage skills and experience to make
what I hope will be fun, interesting and successful vintage events for
everyone involved. You can read all about Fee and her love of vintage
on the next page.
